Picasso captures fluid motion in this linocut print. Dancers and musicians churn and twist to the inaudible music. The figures appear out of the background of undulating hills. They throw their arms above their head with joy and kick their legs up as they dance around. The largest figure on the right has their head thrown back in musical ecstasy while playing a flute. Moving up from the lively scene, an illuminated owl perches silently on the branch of a thin tree and watches the festivities. A strong brow makes the owl appear serious - an interesting contrast from the pure joy of the revelers.
